Nestled on the shores of Lower Cullen Lake, and located just a half mile from Nisswa, our resort offers easy access to some of the Brainerd Lakes Area’s best experiences. Step onto the renowned Paul Bunyan State Trail for miles of biking and walking, spend the day fishing or boating on Lower Cullen Lake, or explore the charming shops, restaurants, and attractions of downtown Nisswa. Whether you’re seeking family fun, outdoor recreation, or a peaceful lakeside getaway, Eagles Nest Resort is the perfect base for making unforgettable Minnesota memories.

The Lake
Lower Cullen Lake is the largest of the 1300 acre Cullen chain of lakes. Our beach front is clear, shallow, sandy and perfect for all ages. The kids can catch sunnies right off the docks. At 512 acres, the lake provides the perfect habitat for game and panfish alike and is ideal for family fishing as well as water sports. Try kayaking or paddleboarding or take a canoe down nearby Cullen creek. Unwind in our lakeside hammock or join in the fun at the beach.
Your cabin includes the use of a 14 ft. aluminum fishing boat, oars, and life jackets. If you'd like to bring your boat, the launch is just down the street and docking is available in our well planned harbor.
We also offer 8 hp outboard motors and a 20 ft. pontoon for rent. You may call ahead to reserve or inquire at check-in.
Motor Rental: $45/daily; $160/weekly

The Trail &
Downtown Nisswa
Eagles Nest is fortunate to have the Paul Bunyan Trail at the end of our driveway. The asphalt trail stretches 112 miles from Brainerd to Bemidji. Our fleet of adult one speed bicycles and helmets are available for your to enjoy. We also provide pull behind trailer and a tag along ride-behind bike for kids. If you have room to bring bikes along, we recommend it, especially for the kids since we’re not able to provide youth bicycles. Whether biking or walking, the trail can provide hours of enjoyment and access to some of the most beautiful views in MN.
Just a half mile from Eagles Nest Resort, downtown Nisswa is one of the Brainerd Lakes Area's favorite destinations–and you can get there directly on the Paul Bunyan State Trail. Leave the car behind and enjoy a walk or bike ride into town, where you'll discover unique boutiques, specialty gift shops, delicious restaurants, and sweet treats from ice cream and candy shops. During the summer, don't miss Nisswa's famous Wednesday Turtle Races, a beloved tradition that delights visitors of all ages. Whether you're shopping for the perfect souvenir, enjoying a meal on a patio, or simply soaking up the small-town charm, downtown Nisswa offers something for everyone.
For the Kids
Kids love Eagles Nest Resort because every day brings a new adventure! They'll make new friends in no time and spend hours exploring our two-acre playground, complete with a jungle gym, swings, and plenty of room to run and play.
Older kids can challenge each other to volleyball, basketball, tetherball, horseshoes, and badminton, or head out to discover our quarter-mile nature trail. Family favorites include our Monday evening campfire with complimentary s'mores, the exciting Friday morning scavenger hunt, and a trip to nearby downtown Nisswa for the famous Wednesday Turtle Races.
And when they're ready for even more fun, Lower Cullen Lake is waiting with swimming, fishing, paddling, and endless lakeside adventures. From sunrise to sunset, Eagles Nest Resort is a place where kids create unforgettable Minnesota vacation memories.
